About Me

Hello and Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here, and I’d love to introduce myself and share what you can expect as we begin this journey together

My name is Amber, and I know that reaching out for therapy can be a big step—one that can feel a little daunting at times. But I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to start, and remind you that by being here, you’ve already begun a meaningful step forward.

I’ve had the privilege of working as a psychotherapist within the NHS (Sutton Uplift and Talk Wandsworth) and Relational Counselling. During that time, I’ve had the honour of supporting individuals of all ages—children, young people, adults, and older adults—each with their own unique stories and challenges. I have experience working face-to-face, online, and over the telephone, offering flexible support to suit each person's needs. I understand that at times, we can all feel stuck, unsure of how to move forward, or weighed down by anxiety, depression, or past experiences.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to be truly heard and supported. I believe that no one should have to suffer in silence, and I’m committed to helping those who may feel like they have no one else to talk to.

I look forward to supporting you every step of the way, and to creating a space where you feel truly valued, understood, and empowered to make the changes that matter most to you.

Amber

Psychotherapist, MBACP

  • Growing up, I witnessed close friends and people I care about silently battling mental health struggles—whether it was anxiety, trauma, stress, depression, or even thoughts of suicide. From an early age, I felt a deep pull to be a source of support for those going through difficult times. However, my other love was baking, so I initially followed that passion and became a pâtisserie chef.

After years in the culinary world, I found myself in a toxic work environment, facing my own personal struggles. It was during this challenging time I realised my true calling was to help others navigate their own mental health journeys. I understand how isolating these experiences can feel, and I want to be that person you can turn to, so you never have to suffer in silence. My hope is to create a space where you feel truly seen, understood, and supported as you find your way forward.

With this newfound purpose, I made the life-changing decision to train as a psychotherapist. Now, I’m combining my personal experiences with my passion for helping others, so I can make a real difference in people’s lives. text goes here

  • My commitment is to be with you every step of the way, helping you navigate through whatever challenges you may be facing. Together, we’ll work through your experiences, making sense of where you are now, while looking towards a future that feels more manageable and hopeful.

Our time together will be a safe space where you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself—your past, your feelings, and how they influence your life today. As we move forward at a pace that feels right for you, we’ll explore new coping tools and build self-awareness to help you find peace and balance.

I approach therapy with compassion and deep care, prioritizing a relationship built on trust and understanding. My goal is to create a space where you feel truly heard, respected, and supported, allowing us to work together towards changes that feel meaningful and in line with who you are and where you want to be.

In each session, I will focus on ensuring you feel valued, safe, and empowered. This is your space—a space where you can share your thoughts and emotions freely, without judgment, and where we’ll work side-by-side to achieve the goals that matter most to you.

  • Before our first session, you’ll receive some initial forms to complete digitally, including an assessment form, GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) policy, and a working agreement. Completing these in advance allows us to make the most of our time together. The forms will ask for some basic information, which is standard practice, and I’m always happy to answer any questions to ensure you feel fully informed and comfortable.

Your first appointment will last 50 minutes. We’ll spend this time getting to know each other — for you to get a sense of me and how I work, and for me to begin understanding your needs and what has brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about your reasons for seeking support, what you hope to gain from therapy, and what you'd like from me as your therapist. This is also a space to begin exploring any goals you may have, whether they’re specific or something we develop together over time.

It’s important to me that you feel safe and at ease, which is why I encourage you to ask any questions and share any expectations you may have, both for the sessions and for our therapeutic relationship. This session is also an opportunity for us both to consider whether we’re the right fit to work together, which is a vital part of building a trusting and effective therapeutic space.
