BSc (Hons) in Counselling
I’m Amber, a psychotherapist with experience in the NHS (Sutton Uplift and Talk Wandsworth) and Relational Counselling. I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals of all ages—from children to older adults—offering online, and telephone therapy.
I’m committed to being with you every step of the way, helping you navigate challenges, whether that’s anxiety, depression, or past experiences. Together, we’ll explore your experiences and work towards a future that feels more manageable and hopeful.
I approach therapy with compassion and care, prioritizing a relationship built on trust and understanding. My goal is to create a space where you feel truly heard, valued, and empowered, so we can work together to make meaningful changes that align with who you are and where you want to be.

Differences between Counselling and Psychotherapy
Short-term focus: Typically focuses on specific issues or challenges, often related to life events like grief, relationship difficulties, or stress.
Solution-focused: Counselling is generally more focused on providing practical solutions, coping strategies, and immediate emotional support.
Less intense: It tends to be less in-depth than psychotherapy and may not explore past issues as thoroughly.
Supportive: Aims to help individuals work through difficulties, offering guidance and support.
Common for life transitions: Often used when someone needs help with adjusting to changes (e.g., divorce, job loss, moving).
Counselling:
Long-term focus: Typically involves deeper exploration of past experiences, traumas, and long-standing emotional patterns that affect current behaviour.
Explores underlying causes: Psychotherapy aims to understand and treat deeper psychological issues, such as chronic mental health conditions (e.g., depression, anxiety disorders).
In-depth and reflective: It may involve more in-depth exploration and understanding of emotional difficulties and personal history.
Therapeutic techniques: Psychotherapy often uses specific therapeutic techniques (e.g., cognitive-behavioural therapy, psychodynamic therapy) to address complex emotional issues.
Ongoing process: It may be longer-term and can be used for people dealing with more persistent issues or mental health conditions.
